A Strange Case Indeed: A Novel
In Victorian London, where industry hurtles forward and mad science reigns, Oliver Reid is a thief whose life has come to an impasse. He is bored with picking pockets and police chases, tired of struggling to survive, and most certainly fed up with watching the love of his life fall for someone else. He knows he is ready for something more... proper.
What proper looks like? Ollie isn’t quite sure though.
But what he does know is that after a smuggling job goes south, and his so-called friends leave him behind, it's time to move on. So, when he learns Dr. Henry Jekyll and his associate Mr. Edward Hyde are looking for an assistant, he leaps at the opportunity to work for them. It doesn't take Ollie long though to realize there is something strange and hostile and downright complicated about his employers' relationship, and, as usual, his curiosity gets the better of him. But what starts out as a trivial investigation into Jekyll and Hyde's affairs soon escalates into a far more lethal juggling act than Ollie could have imagined. It is an adventure that will twist Ollie's perception of good and evil, and what it means to straddle the thin line between the two.
